Position Description This position will support the operations of a third-party firm (3PL) on Terex’s behalf in its efforts to provide pre-delivery inspection and transportation services to Terex. The candidate will complete final assembly work and do troubleshooting for diesel and gas operated Terex construction equipment. The position will provide quality, training and administrative functions for Terex.
Responsibilities: Key Tasks: * Train third party employees on the service and repair of Terex equipment as well as on the processes and procedures to meet Terex requirements / expectations. * Partner with sales and service departments as well as third-party firms and vendors to provide quality machines to customers. * Communicate information on equipment issues or potential enhancements to others within Terex. * Perform various final assembly and/or troubleshooting duties to include: * Assemble options on a unit before shipment (i.e. A/C installation, thumb kit installation, hydraulic modification/installation, etc) * Perform diagnosis and repair of hydraulic and electrical systems * Conduct tests on equipment to assess proper operating capability, safety and to identify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or structural problems; identify parts/supplies needed for repairs * Perform service on new equipment to ensure adequate fluid levels, mechanical devices/hydraulics work properly, electrical controls calibrated correctly and engines tuned to specification * Complete various machine quality related duties to include: * Perform quality inspections of units both pre and post the work done by 3PL * Maintain quality and productivity reports on 3PL performance * Daily random sampling of equipment to ensure overall quality of equipment maintained by 3PL * Communicate with Terex factories and vendors to resolve quality issues with parts, etc. * Perform various administrative and inventory duties to include: * Inventory control (cycle counts, physical inventories) as required * Maintain inventory list of equipment * Computer entry of inventory transactions in AS/400 * Order and log all parts and supplies needed for Terex & 3PL operation. * Manage order receipt and order fulfillment confirmation / communication between Southaven and 3PL * Timely / accurate processing of POs, invoices, work orders, job sheets and warranty claims * Communicate with Southaven team to facilitate schedule of work orders with 3PL
Qualifications: Education * High school diploma or equivalent. Language Requirements * English is essential. Second language an advantage Travel Minimal; less than 10%. Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record Experience: * Requires a minimum of five years experience in the maintenance of mechanical equipment * Requires working knowledge of the operating characteristics of heavy construction equipment * Must have forklift certification or be able to obtain certification in a reasonable timeframe * Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); AS/400 experience preferred * Must have good problem solving, organization, and communication skills * Ability to communicate effectively with other Terex departments / facilities, suppliers and 3PL * Ability to work flexible hours and weekends * Requires in-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems * Requires the ability to diagnose equipment issues and establish corrective course of action * Requires the ability to read precision instruments and perform mathematical calculations * Requires the ability to learn lean principles, continuous quality and just-in-time (JIT) practices * Requires the ability to observe and follow all safety rules and regulations * Requires sufficient reasoning ability to understand detailed written and oral instructions and solve straightforward, immediate problems Skills: The candidate must create a very open and transparent environment.
